I know this is really random, and i'm crossposting this a few places, so sorry if you see this more than once.
I'm trying to move out of my parents house and I have a massive crazy LOTR fan collection that needs a new home, preferably not in a landfill.

I spent a few years of my life deeply obsessed with LOTR - and now, over the phase, i find I'm left with items such as the FOTR extended edition signed by Andy Serkis (met him at Book Soup in Hollywood), a photo glossy of Merry from when i almost met Dom at the Best Buy on La Brea Ave, hundreds of Variety/etc magazine clippings (including lots of Dom stuff), official art/making-of books, copies of special LOTR issues of Entertainment Weekly, multiple copies of the actual trilogy/other Tolkien books, a gollum sculpture, "life-size" stand-up Hobbits, a silk Hobbit wallscroll, a lifesize legolas poster, two regular (big) legolas posters, and a shrink-wrapped/hung jigsaw puzzle poster... etc etc.

If anybody is at all interested in how those things sound, please contact me. Or refer somebody you know who might want any of this stuff to this post, or to emiwenis@gmail.com
I honestly don't care about money - i do not want to TRASH all this valuable stuff which would probably be awesome to somebody who'se still into LOTR/ a serious collector. I'm especially interested in finding loving homes for the BIG items - the solved puzzle poster, the wall scroll, and the stand-up cardboard hobbits.

photos of almost everything i have available, including a couple things i forgot to mention before, like a costume Frodo cloak made by me and my mom, and a LOTR (frodo/sam) t-shirt from new zealand: http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y135/ef155552/lotr/

12:04 am - Gone across the sea

We've lost one of our own.

Tim Hildebrandt succumbed to diabetes on June 11. The brothers Hildebrandt were not instrumental in the movie versions of Middle Earth, but their work shaped much of our vision of it as writers.

He shall be missed. But welcome upon a distant shore.

6:47 am - One ring to bring them all, in in their geekiness, bind them

I had neither the time nor the money to attend ORC (the One Ring Convention), but a friend sent me a link to the picture gallery from it. Some of the costumes are amazing!

8:53 pm - "Colorbars"

Made some multi-fandom colorbars, which you can't really call colorbars since they are not...colorful, lol! Anyway, made them for myself, but then I'm not that selfish, so I thought I'd share.

Youll find them here @ my journal.

just thought i'd let you all know; readthebook is getting off the ground once more.

Miss the excitement surrounding Lord of the Rings? Do you want conversation with fellow fans once more?
Discussion begins December 1st.

6:53 pm - We wants it, precious!!!

Have you all seen that a new documentary about LotR fans is coming out next week? It's called Ringers, and it's feature length with interviews of cast and crew.

Christmas can't get here soon enough!

8:04 am - I leave today on a Quest!

I'm off to Indiaapolis to see the Lord of the Rings Motion Picture Exhibit. I shall stand in the same room with costumes worn by all the main characters. I shall look upon props used in the actual production. I shall resist the insane desire to make off with any of these items.

In the giftshop, my wallet will know pain.

I am most excited!

8:38 pm - A duty to attend

I note that a couple of good applications are languishing for lack of votes. If 10 voting members are required to complete the application process, then people need to take up the slack and vote. It's a pity to see an excellent application with eight or nine yes votes that can't be okayed for lack of quorum.

C'mon people. What would Aragorn do?
